Homemade Dog Treats with Cheese

The Brew
1 cup uncooked oatmeal (I use Quaker)
2 tablespoons of instant bouillion (beef or chicken flavored)
1 medium size egg, beaten
1/3 cup butter
1 cup of boiling water
3/4 cup of brewest yeast
2 - 3 cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Heat the water in a microwave safe bowl or glass container, add bouillion and stir.
In a large bowl, pour the hot water over the oatmeal and butter, let stand for 10 minutes.
Stir in milk, brewers yeast cheese, sugar and egg.
Add whole wheat flour 1 cup at a time and mix well.
Place on a sheet of wax paper sprinkled with wheat flour and roll the dough 1/2" thick.
Use cookie cutters to make fun to eat shapes, take remaining scraps to kneed and roll
to use all of the mixture.
Bake on a greased cookie pan.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until golden brown and cool before serving your dog.
Makes about 3 1/2 dozen large dog treats or 8 dozen small dog treats.

These treats have no perservatives and are not intended to be sold commercially.
Store your treats in the freezer.

Note: You can substitute the same amount of cornmeal instead of brewers yeast.
